In general, I think March is a really good book. It's one of those books that you go into thinking it's going to be rather cliche, but it ends up being different. I've read a bunch of historical fiction, and even more war stories, but this one also had a plot aside from the war, and at times I got lost in the characters and forgot a little about the actual setting. I also went into it being pretty critical, as I've read Little Women and it's one of my favorites. All in all, though, I like how even though it's set a hundred years ago, the messages about family and soldiers and the troubles of war beyond what we see are ones which can definitley be related to today's conflicts.
Nice job on the blog. =)

Thanks for the comment Lauren...you are the first brave soul, hopefully more will follow!
I liked March as well. As I got into the story, I began to really care about the characters. I like historical novels, because I'm able to connect what I have learned about the time period to the events of the book, and it helps me relate to the story even more. I also enjoyed the fact that the ending wasn't a traditional "happy ending," but a more realistic one.
Even though I've never read Little Women, I easily became attached to the characters and what they went through. This book surprised me, and I think it's one of my favorite books that I've read this summer.
