Wish I was there....

I was updating my blog and I came across this picture from my last vacation in the Dominican Republic. Wow, it was beautiful... I know it has been a mild week, but I cannot wait for the warm weather to come back for good.
Feel free to post about your favorite vacations, or what you long for when you are stuck in a New England winter.

Crappy days like these inspire me to move forward in life.
And by forward I mean elsewhere.

I can just imagine myself swimming in a pool in Florida right now, or on a sandy beach in LA.

Usually, I take a mental note on my surroundings and use it to make whatever happens in the future not seem so bad.
For example, a couple of February vacations ago, I was riding my bike home from a friend's house and I didn't have gloves or a jacket on and there was residual snow on the ground and I didn't like it, and I just took a mental note on the temperature, the setting, what I was thinking and feeling, and what I was thinking was "I'm going to remember this at a happier time."
And I was right. I referenced that one a bunch thus far, and I'll even reference it now. I'm glad I'm not 15 and outside in the cold.
Granted, it is a little harder to do when it's the same time of year, and my hands are practically frozen right now.

I just started rambling, I'm sorry. You're probably bored and you think I'm 10 times more strange than to begin with.
I'll just say Barbados or something.
OH, BUT YOU DON'T NEED A PASSPORT TO GO TO PUERTO RICO.

..eh, I'll still take Barbados.

Two of my favorite vacations were to Hawaii and California. Oh man.. were they beautiful! And you would think that I wouldn't really appreciate going to Hawaii since I was in 7th grade, but I did! I long to go back there when I'm stuck inside on a snowy day.

That is one beautiful picture ... Barbados looks so peaceful.

One of my most vivid vacation memories was when spent 2 weeks on the West Coast visiting San Diego, Los Angelos, Oregon, Washington, and Arizona. We rook some pretty awesome pictures of the waterfalls at Yosemite National Park, the National Redwood Forest, and more, but they never got developed because we accidentally left our camera at the Grand Canyon :(
It was one of my favorite vacations, though. Seeing your picture reminded me of that.

I long for the great weather to come back too when in this New England winter. I also love the snow and enjoy it for a little while because of the snow days. But i would rather be on an island or somewhere warm for half of the winter.

I want it to keep snowing here in New England. I miss not having it snow on Christmas, too. As much as love living in New England I wouldn't mind living in Florida so i could go to the beach every day.

I love the snow, but it gets old after a while. The first couple of snow storms every winter are fun and then I just get sick of it. Majority of the time I love New England weather, but sometimes I wish I could just live somewhere that the weather is great all the time.

Five summers ago my family and I and our cousin's family took a joint vacation to Aruba. The weather there was beautiful, and there were tons of cool things to do. We went tubing, snorkeling, helmet-diving, and even parasailing! In our free time we would swim or take walks along the beach.

I can't wait for the warm weather either. Winters always seem so long and depressing. This year hasn't been that bad, but I still can't wait for spring!

I seriously keep having dreams that it is summer and I am going to wake up and go lay by my pool. This is the longest winter of my life even though it has not been too harsh this winter, which is nice, it has lasted for too long. June where are you?

That's a sweet picture. Two summers ago I went to Portugal and it was probably the best place I've ever been. The people are just really friendly, and the houses and cities are old or tucked away in some hill or something. It's just quiet.

Here are some pictures I took there:
